Summer Weekend Metrics
|
Thank you to our members who held open houses during our SpokaneOpen.com Summer Weekend this past weekend!
This first-ever event - a smaller version of our annual open house weekend - was supported by a modest push on social media (Facebook), which brought 212 organic exposures and 2,833 boosted exposures with 108 engagements (70% women, 30% men, most 35-54 years of age) to our message.
Please let us know how this event performed for you and if you have an opinion on future efforts to support your work via a social media push on our association Facebook page.
Send your comment to Angie at the SAR.

Call for Action - Success!
|
Thank you to members who responded to the recent NAR Call for Action - it was a success!
The U.S. Senate, this week, passed H.R. 3700, the "Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act," by unanimous consent.
This legislation includes reforms to current Federal Housing Administration restrictions on condominium financing, among other provisions, and is long supported by the National Association of Realtors®.
Changes include efforts to make FHA's recertification process "substantially less burdensome," while lowering FHA's current owner-occupancy requirement from 50 percent to 35 percent. The bill also requires FHA to replace existing policy on transfer fees with the less-restrictive model already in place at the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
Together, we helped advance this issue in a favorable direction for all REALTORS®.

Free Charging Stations
|
|
Dan Pelle / The Spokesman-Review
|
Avista will be installing free charging stations to 120 of its residential customers over the next two years.
The equipment and installation is valued at about $1,375 per customer. The homeowner will still be responsible for the cost of any electricity delivered to the residence.
Washington leads the nation in per-capita sales of electric passenger cars. About 20,000 electric vehicles are currently registered here.
If you or one of your clients would like to know more about this offer - and sign up to be included in the program - visit Avista online here.

SAR is a PokeStop
|
Your SAR is a Pokémon GO hotspot.
Pokémon GO uses a Google Maps overlay to create virtual and reality game worlds linked by GPS. Actual places become locations in the game, where players must physically travel to collect Pokémon. It's free to download and play on Android and iOS devices. Nintendo launched the game last week.
The game offers "PokeStop" locations where players can get items within the game's digital world.
The SAR is included as a location in the game.
SAR staff has noticed several people in the association's parking lot in recent days who appear to be playing the game. No problems related to the game have been reported to us, to date.
See more about this new online game in a KREM 2 News report, online here.

Our Early History
|
"I believe that the next ten years will see a more remarkable growth in the city of Spokane than the last ten years, and that this city is just now entering on a period of great industrial development."
Frederic Elmendorf
Frederic Elmendorf
is the first president of the Spokane Realty association (now the Spokane Association of REALTORS®) at its founding in 1911, the year his optimism is quoted in the Spokane Daily Chronicle
(pictured above).
Spokane: Our Early History was commissioned by your Spokane Association of REALTORS® at its centennial in 2011. In it, celebrated local authors Tony and Suzanne Bamonte tell our story from then to now.
This book makes an excellent "thank you" gift for clients and associates. You'll pay $29.95 to buy a copy at a bookstore but only $7.50 (case price $105) if you buy a copy at your SAR - tax included!
See Angie at the SAR to purchase your copy or email her here to have her set aside a case for you.
