PHA Advocacy Update

Invite Your Members of Congress to Tour Your Hospital During August
PHA is working with its champions in Congress to include physician-owned hospital expansion language in a year-end legislative package that can garner bipartisan support and we need your help.

During the month of August, members of Congress will return from Washington to their home districts and states for their annual summer recess. This is a perfect opportunity to invite your Representative and Senators to tour your hospital. As their schedules tend to fill up fast, it is important that you make these invitations as soon as possible.

Members of Congress need to know the high-quality, low-cost, high-satisfaction care that is being delivered by physician-owned hospitals right in their own communities, and a hospital tour is the most effective way for them to see it firsthand. PHA can provide a model letter of invitation, contact information, and any additional information or support you might need in scheduling a tour with your Representative and Senators. Please contact David Tyson at [email protected] for assistance.

MACRA = Physician Consolidation?
Changes in payment for physicians as a result of MACRA could have the unintended consequence of encouraging physician consolidation, according to Modern Healthcare.
