We've got summer fever here at Clapp Communications!

Did you know that July is National Ice Cream Month?!

What's your favorite refreshing treat in the summer to cool off?

Barb -  I don't indulge often but I must splurge on ice cream when I am in Deep Creek, Maryland! My favorite place is Lakeside Creamery.  There is nothing like pulling up in a boat and hopping off to grab a delicious cone of homemade yumminess. The flavors change every day depending on what they make and I always hope for coconut to be on the menu.

Timmy - My favorite summer cocktail is Deep Eddies Grapefruit Vodka and soda with a ruby red grapefruit garnish! You can switch out to tonic water for a little variety - perfect beach happy hour cocktail!

Lisa -    My favorite ice cream sundae comes from Dumser's Dairyland in Ocean City. It's called the "Southern Treat" - three dips of old-fashioned butter pecan ice cream covered with butterscotch topping, chopped almonds, whipped cream and a cherry. YUM!!

Dana -  Whenever we make it down to the shore we stop at Vanderwende's on the way home. Delicious homemade ice cream! Although sometimes the smell of the cows is a little distracting...

Karen E. -  Two of my favorite things are ice cream and cocktails so I am definitely a happy girl in the summer time! My favorite ice cream is coffee chip and a favorite ice cream tradition is my Mom and I have a hot fudge sundae (my Grandmother's favorite) on my Grandmother's birthday every year in her memory. As for cocktails, I love a Southside or an Orange Crush in the summer.  And I've never been one to turn down a frozen drink, especially a margarita or a mudslide.

Karen B. -   My favorite local ice cream venue is Prigel Family Creamery in Glen Arm. Try their Salted Caramel Pretzel  Flavor for a real treat!

Lauren - My favorite summer treat is a simple scoop of ice cream, preferably chocolate chip cookie dough, in a waffle cone. I recently visited South Mountain Creamery, located outside of Frederick, and their homemade ice cream is one of the best I've ever had. You can even feed a baby calf while you're there!

July 2016

From the Desk of Barb Clapp...
Summer should get a speeding ticket... The warm weather months go so quickly! I think summer is the perfect time to go ahead and splurge a little, whether you are on vacation somewhere or still at home! There's nothing like a sweet, tasty dessert like ice cream or a summer cocktail like a frozen pina colada. I hope you get a chance to indulge in your favorite treats at home or on vacation this summer too.
Enjoy!
Barb
