Amy's Collegiate News:

November was a good month at St. John's, though the students are definitely ready for the holidays! Essays and don rags are looming! At the beginning of the month we were able to meet with Dr. Ken Boa at one of our Lewis reading groups and had fantastic conversations with him, about the college, Plato's Republic, and of course, C.S. Lewis's Screwtape Letters

The Lewis reading group is still going great! It's been such a blessing to see a core group forming of people who enjoy coming, and to meet the new faces that come for each book we've read. It's a wonderful blend of believers and non-believers, which I just love when we get into discussions on absolute truth and the love of God. We have just finished The Great Divorce, our second book we read this past month along with Screwtape. I think the best discussion we had was our second week on The Great Divorce: the question asked was how does loving God enable us to fully love our fellow-creatures? I'm so looking forward to the months ahead and continuing the relationships God is forming! We plan on celebrating Christmas together by reading The Lion, The Witch, and the WardrobePlease be praying for this group and for opportunities to speak truth and show students the love of Jesus!

Our men and women's fellowships, though small, are going well, and we are blessed to be able to discuss faith and share the love of Jesus with the students the Lord has brought us. Ann and I were excited this past month to have some new faces come for our bible study on the gospel of John at our Wednesday tea. Pray that the Lord would continue to use these times and the special place of the Aslan House to bring students closer to heaven and Himself. Please keep our men's and women's fellowships in your prayers, and the wider Christian community at SJC! Pray for opportunities for conversations to share the love of Jesus!

In Him,

Amy
