#SwimmingGrandma

On June 30, "Grandma Sandy" Abeler, 89, successfully swam across Cedar Lake (nearly 1/2 mile) and raised over $8400 for scholarships so more kids can come to Camp and hear the good news about Jesus!  In her five swims dating back to 2012, Sandy has raised more than $27K in scholarship funds. This year Camp plans to award nearly $40K in scholarships. The swim was broadcasted LIVE on Camp's Facebook page. Her story was also captured by Boyd Huppert of KARE 11 for his "Land of 10,000 Stories" series.  Stay tuned for a broadcast date!

VIDEO: Diving Raft Fun

Have you ever been on the raft at Camp? It's a lot of fun! Our marketing guy decided to see what it would look like to record some video with the GoPro on the raft. And then a group of girls decided to come out and swim, making the video so much more fun! Check it out.
Joke of the Month

Little Susie, a six-year-old camper, complained to her Cabin Counselor, "I've got a stomach ache." "That's because your stomach is empty," the counselor replied. "You would feel better if you had something in it." That night, one of Susie's friends told her counselor she had a headache. Susie perked up and jumped in, "That's because it's empty," she said. "You'd feel better if you had something in it."

Beaver Point Board
Walk Opens!

For years, many have dreamed of an access to "Beaver Point," the marshy peninsula separating Turtle Bay and Sunset Cove. Thanks to the Minnesota DNR, Brian Lubinski (Camp's favorite biologist), generous donors, and 30 volunteers from Woodbury Lutheran, Phase I was installed the week of Junior High 1 in June.  Spanning 220+ feet from the driveway to the Beaver Lodge, the new walkway has already been a hit with campers and Family Camp birdwatchers! Come and see!
