Potluck TGIF
This Friday July 8, 5-7 PM
Home of Michele & Denis Pomroy, in Soquel

**Our home is approximately 2.5 miles from the freeway exit.  I will leave a balloon, flag or some indicator attached to the street sign.
----------------------------------------------
DIRECTIONS
Take Highway  1,  exiting at Porter St/Bay St and continue up Porter Street toward the mountains. (road name changes to San Jose - Soquel Road.)
continue on San Jose Soquel Road, looking to the left you'll see a large campground: Seventh Day Adventist....begin to slow down, as Los Robles Road is located at the end of the campground.

Turn left onto our private single lane road.
Once on Los Robles Road, you'll continue driving through the two red brick columns and at the next bend in the road, you'll drive up the driveway on the right (#344 & #348) that is shared with our neighbors.

Again, I'll have an indicator of some sort directing you up our driveway.  If you miss our driveway, it can be tricky to turn around.

July's book is  Lab Girl by Hope Jahren, a n illuminating debut memoir of a woman in science; a moving portrait of a longtime friendship; and a stunningly fresh look at plants that will forever change how you see the natural world.   Acclaimed scientist  Hope Jahren's first book is a revelatory treatise on plant life-but it is also so much more.

Our August book will be   The Beekeepers Apprentice  by Laurie King.

                                  The Minister's Summer

Rev. Russ is on vacation/study leave for July and half of August.  Vacation is just like it sounds-I'll be gone for some of this time.  "Study leave" is the time given to me, according to my contract, to prepare for the next church year. While I am not preaching during this time, I am available for pastoral care. The best way to reach me over the summer is my cell phone: 510-418-9891 and I text as well. I also will be reading emails ( [email protected]).

See you soon.............Russ

A Big Thanks to the Aptos July 4th Parade Contingency

The following people did a great job of representing us at the World's Shortest 4th of July parade: Sharon Mc, Reggie Mc, Linda B, Bob B, Erica C, James G, Havad S, Bill W, Barbara A, The Sendel family, Aren H, Dee and Larry T, Devi T, Jan T and Robert A.

A special thanks to Randy J for showing up to send us off and Jan T for pushing me!

It may be the shortest distance and lots of fun but  it is not the speediest parade!
