Burlingame Library

Neal Gorenflo, founder of Shareable, a nonprofit supporting the global sharing movement, will discuss the two sides of the sharing economy: one led by "disruptive" for-profit companies like Uber and Airbnb and the other with a strong public interest bent. He'll explain how to shape this trend to address the most pressing challenges that communities face. He'll also give examples of unusual sharing practices including nanny sharing, peer-to-peer car sharing that pays for the car, and international home exchanges where no money is exchanged.

"The Sharing Economy" will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Lane Room at the Burlingame Public Library, 480 Primrose Road. Admission is free, and door prizes will be given out, including extras for those who don't drive alone to this event.
