Message from MWBC's Director
As we celebrated Independence Day, pending summer vacations, and fiscal
year closeouts, I wanted to highlight some of our latest accomplishments.

From July 1, 2015 - June 30, 2016 we assisted in:

  • 13 business starts,
  • 81 jobs created,
  • 19 jobs retained,
  • $4.3 million in sales growth, and
  • Established new strategic partnerships.

Additionally, besides receiving continual SBA, Citi Foundation, and Frederick County funding support, we now have funding for the 2017 fiscal year from Prince George's County Council and the City of Bowie. Since 2014, our business counselor Angie Duncanson has been providing training and counseling services to women entrepreneurs out of the Bowe Business Innovation Center at Bowie State University. This recent funding will spark new program offerings and resources to help women entrepreneurs achieve new heights.

We look forward to keeping you informed.
Enjoy your summer!
