If you are a parent or caregiver of a student at Edison Elementary, join us this Friday for a Reading Buddies event in conjunction with We Love Erie's Public Schools Week. Walk-ins welcome.

Reading Buddies with La Leche League of Erie

6pm - 8pm

For breastfeeding mothers or those considering breastfeeding, La Leche League of Erie has meetings every month. This month La Leche League is hosting Reading Buddies to discuss the importance of language development and reading with your child.

Systematic Training for Effective Parenting

Beginning this Saturday, the Erie Family Center is offering their free Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) in North East for 5 weeks.

The program will run Saturday mornings from February 7th - March 7th from 10am - 12pm at Earle C. Davis Elementary School, North East, PA 16428.

1-2-3 Magic

1-2-3 Magic is a free 3-day education workshop dedicated to helping parents build strong, positive relationships with their children and overcome the stress that can take the fun out of parenting. The program offers easy-to-learn parenting solutions that are research-based and proven effective for age groups from toddlers to adolescents.

The program will be on Monday evenings, February 23, March 2, March 9, from 6:30 - 8:00pm at the Erie Family Center.

READING TIP OF THE MONTH

Reading to young children can be like a television commercial - you have to get their attention to be successful. Depending on their age, you want to keep the story short to fit their attention span. The book can't be too long and has to be interesting and exciting to hold their interest while building up their imagination.
