3 Ideas for Winter

Looking for fun activities for your family this winter? Here are three ideas for what to do to keep your kids engaged throughout the winter months.

1. Stop by the Imagination Library Reading Nook
at the JFK Center

It is free and open for your family to come enjoy and read together. Come see the beautiful artwork and let your child's imagination soar while you read through the Imagination Library books.

2. Visit the library!
There is always something exciting to find at the library. Find your own adventures or ask the librarian for help. For locations and hours, click here.

3. Check out the Erie Children's Museum
The museum is dedicated to providing a fun and educational experience for families. Come play and learn as a family and do hands-on activities that will engage your children and inspire creativity and imagination.

Erie's Future Fund

Would you like to enroll your child in preschool, but don't think you can afford it? Erie's Future Fund might be able to help. Erie's Future Fund financially assists eligible families by providing a scholarship to attend quality programs throughout Erie County.

If your 3 or 4 year old child qualifies for the Erie's Future Fund scholarship, they will be able to attend an approved high-quality Early Childhood Education Program for 3 half-days a week during the school year, from September through May.

They are now accepting applications, and eligible families receive them on a first-come, first-serve basis. To find out if you are eligible, click here.

Kinship Care

Are you a grandparent or other family member raising children? Then you are a kinship caregiver. Kinship Care is here to help you by providing information and support.

The Kinship Care Winter Gathering will take place on the morning of Saturday, February 7th at Community Crossroads Baptist Church. This is a free event for grandparents and other family caregivers raising children. Child Care and children's activities will be provided along with guest speakers for the adults. Deadline to register is February 2nd.
