Pray for Peace in South Sudan
This week, South Sudan marks its fifth anniversary as an independent nation.  Join us as we pray for a lasting peace in South Sudan.

A Prayer for Peace in Times of Conflict
O God, you have bound us together in a common life.
Help us, in the midst of our struggles for justice and truth, to confront one another without hatred or bitterness, and
to work together with mutual forbearance and respect; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Book of Common Prayer, p. 824)

We pray that the transitional government may live into the peace agreement, and that the basic necessities of food, water, and shelter will be provided to the people of South Sudan.

It's Going  to be an Exciting Summer!
Christ Church Families Camp Out
Join Leah Romanelli and members of the youth ministry team on a family camp out Friday, August 12 - Sunday, August 14!  We are heading to White Pines State Park in Mt. Morris, IL.  Hiking, fishing, riding, canoeing on the near-by Rock River, go-karting, compline under the stars-all at our finger tips! Price is TBD, but will be approximately $40 for camp site and food.  Add-ons like riding, canoeing, and go-karting will be at each family's discretion.  A restaurant is on the premises for those who'd prefer not to cook over the fire.  Everyone of every age is welcome.  Rising 7th graders and older may participate without a parent, younger children must have an adult present.  Friends are welcome!  Contact Leah Romanelli by Monday, August 1st to sign up.

AED Life Saving Device Available in Prevost Cloister
There is a permanent AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) available in the Prevost Cloister. The clergy and many parishioners have been trained in its use in case of a cardiac incident. In addition the step by step instructions are very simple to follow. Hopefully this AED will never be used. But it is there in case of an emergency. There is also an AED in the foyer of the Parish House, 470 Maple St.

Youth Mission Trip to Herrick, South Dakota
It's Almost Time!

Together with local Lakota teenagers we will learn about how being grounded in our faith traditions heals us, grows us, and prepares us for the world while we learn traditional Lakota skills, ride horses, go canoeing, and perhaps hike the sacred Badlands.

While we're gone, please keep us in your prayers. Specifically, please pray for safe travel, the health and safety of everyone on the work sites, that we would build relationship with the people we meet and learn from them.

Our 2016 mission team includes the following youth: Kate Burnham, Jack Gordon,
Quinn Hanley, Teddy Hines, Charlie Keller, Teddy Keller, Dakota Keys, Bair Kothmann,
Lucy Kreisa, Luke Lato, Wilson MacRitchie, Ethan Montgomery, Tim Olson, Grant Smith, Sam Tomlinson, Grace White.

Attention Church School Parents
We would love to have you register your children now for Church School this coming fall. Here are 3 reasons why:

1. To update our information on allergies and special needs/requests.

2. To get accurate classroom numbers so we can plan accordingly.

3. Because we are super excited to have your children at Christ Church and we can't wait to see who's coming!

This is for all children from the Nursery through 8th grade. Any questions, please contact Melissa Durbin, [email protected] or 847-446-2850.
