July 2016: Issue No. 8
Dear Fairview Library Community,

Welcome once again to Fairview Public Library's monthly newslet ter. Thank your for subscribing and I hope to see many of you in the library this summer.  We offer programs for children and adults and we are always developing our book and media collections.  See the full calendar of activities here and On Your Mark, Get Set, Read Summer Reading Club information can be found here.  Enjoy!

The children pictured below are participants in the a national literacy campaign called
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten.  Each child has read 500 books and will read 500 more before they begin Kindergarten! That is quite an accomplishment and we would be remiss if we did not recognize their achievement.  A special thank you to the parents and caregivers who read and encourage the children in their lives to read!

These are the objectives of 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten:
  • to promote reading to newborns, infants, and toddlers
  • to encourage parent and child bonding through reading
The Fairview Library fully supports their objectives and we hope you do, too! Please visit or call the library to enroll your child in this beneficial and free program.  For more information visit the official website for the program.

Sincerely,

Kristin Nelson, Library Director
