Just because it's summer doesn't mean the women of TTN are resting!
Last Friday (June 24) a dozen members had a fabulous trip to the Harwood Museum in Taos where, as docent Karen Lievense led a tour of the Mabel Dodge Luhan exhibition.
Karen will conduct another tour if four or more members want to go. Please e-mail Sue or Rachel if you're interested.
Monday evening, 27 women at TTN's monthly meeting had a lot of fun learning about Living More with Less - also from Karen Lievense. In her interactive presentation, we identified the objects we love and why and explored ways to honor our memories while still finding ways to let go.
As the owner of "Downsizing Made Simple," Karen helps people let go of things that may no longer belong in their lives, whether it's because they're moving from 4,500 sq ft to 450, tired of the clutter or, most importantly, the things they're holding onto no longer bring them joy.
Upcoming meetings:
August: Mental Roadblocks to Wise Financial Decisions
IMPORTANT NOTE:
There is more than one way to RSVP to a TTN event - through Meetup, on the TTN website or by e-mailing the organizer. It doesn't matter which method you use but
it is important that you RSVP to any event you plan to attend. It's a great help to event organizers.
Thank you!

DISCOVERING MABEL DODGE LUHAN IN TAOS!
On June 24th, twelve TTN members and their guests spent a delightful day in Taos visiting the
Harwood Museum of Art exhibition Mabel Dodge Luhan & Company: American Moderns and the West.
TTN member Karen Lievense, a Taos resident, interior designer and docent at the Harwood, gave us an entertaining and comprehensive tour of the exhibit which includes paintings by Georgia O'Keefe. She presented the different periods in Mabel's life, from Victorian Buffalo to Italy, New York and finally Taos. We also learned about her five husbands and the four-part memoir she spent a decade writing.
At the end of the tour everyone had a clearer vision of who Mabel Dodge Luhan was and why she was described as a "creator of creators" by American Modernist painter Marsden Hartley.
We had lunch on the plaza then toured the
Mabel Dodge Luhan house. Karen explained that the list of house guests, including D.H. Lawrence, Georgia O'Keefe and Ansel Adams, reflects the tremendous impact Mabel Dodge Luhan had on 20th Century American Modernism. The house is now an historic inn and conference center.
The weather was gorgeous and cooler than Santa Fe and everyone had a lot of fun. Many, many thanks to Brigid Brahe for organizing the trip.
