Field Trip Reminders
For summer 2016, the Club has incorporated field trips into the cost of camp. Be sure to check your campers schedule each Monday (available at http://bgclaplata.org/programs/summer-programs/)  make sure that they have the proper items necessary for each trip. Children without the proper items (swimsuit, etc). may have to sit out during the trip time. There may also be a waiver necessary for the weekly field trip, so be sure to check our parent announcement board for details about each trip.
SMART Moves
SMART Moves stands for Skills Mastery and Resistance Training and is a program that all of our Club members are asked to participate in. Lessons include specific topics like coping skills, resisting peer pressure, avoidance of drugs and alcohol and more. Each set of lessons also includes an age appropriate lesson on relationships/puberty/or sexual health. Youth who have participated in the program have talked about how it has helped them gain confidence, leadership skills, coping mechanisms and social skills. The program is led by staff trained to implement the curriculum.

If you would NOT like your child to participate, we ask that you fill out an OPT-OUT form at the front desk.

Please see Kelsey with any questions.
Let's Make It a Successful Summer!
Summer is going great and we could not be more excited for the next couple of months. We want to give a few reminders/tips that can help your Club Camper have the most successful time while attending Camp:

Always pack a water bottle with your name on it: Hydration is super important, as we are running around most of the day!

Closed Toed Shoes: We want all Club Members to participate in every activity, and they must be wearing closed toed shoes in order to participate in outdoor/gym activities. We are moving A LOT throughout the day, so comfortable shoes are a must as well!

Pack a lot of healthy snacks: Because we are running around most of the day, your Club Member needs a lot of food. Maybe even a little more than you might think. The healthier and more balanced the snacks/meals are, the more successful the day will be.

Participate: We have various programs/activities each hour of the day, and must have all Club Members participate in them in order to ensure the safety of the group and staff. We hope you can encourage your Club Member to try new things, and to get excited about other activities to look forward to throughout the day.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments.
