Golf Classic Raises $15,000 for Student Scholarships
The 9th Annual  Southside Virginia Community College Foundation Golf Classic was held on June 8, 2016 at the Lake Gaston Golf Club and was a huge success.  Click here to see all winners, teams and supporters. 
Southside Emergency Medical Services Council Establishes Scholarship
The Southside Emergency Medical Services Council recently established a scholarship fund for students enrolled in the Southside Virginia Community College Emergency Medical Services program.   Recipients must be residents of Brunswick, Halifax, Lunenburg or Mecklenburg Counties and accepted into or enrolled in the SVCC EMS program.

The Southside Emergency Medical Services Council is tasked with the objective to sponsor EMS education and training programs designed to improve the knowledge and skills of all health providers who are involved in emergency medical services.

STEM Means FUN Way To Learn at SVCC
STEM   is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four
specific disciplines - science, technology, engineering and mathematics - in an interdisciplinary and applied approach.  To the young people attending the 2016 STEM Academies at Southside Virginia Community College, it is FUN!!

Southern Virginia Higher Education Center Hosts Book Giveaway
Thanks to a generous donation from Dollar General Distribution Center, 17,000 available books were free to any adult attending the Great Book Giveaway, held at the  Southern Virginia Higher Education Center  (SVHEC) recently. 
Located in South Boston, the SVHEC is a satellite location for SVCC and other schools.
