Location:

Emai l Keith Powell for more information

Speaker:  Jon Kendall-
Just as Kleenex is synonymous to tissues, so Google is to search engines. And when it comes to businesses being found online, understanding how Google works is essential if you don't want to get buried in the no-man's land of page 2 and beyond.

According to Jon Kendall, president of Osky Blue, a Frisco-based online marketing firm, there's much more to ranking high on Google than simply having a nifty website planted with a lot of keywords. In his talk, "What You Don't Know About Google," your members will learn:

  *   Why their website must now be mobile friendly in order to get higher rankings
  *   Why being listed on Google Place is essential, even for businesses without a storefront or office
  *   How they can use YouTube and LinkedIn to drive visitors to their website

Stockyards Historical Facts

Courtesy of North Fort Worth Historical Society

An agreement Simpson and Niles made in 1902 with Armour and Swift brought in two of the nation's largest meatpackers, which constructed modern plants adjacent to the stockyards. In a stock reorganization, each packer received a third interest in the stockyards company, and Simpson, Niles, and smaller investors retained a third. In exchange for stock and land on which to build their plants, the packers agreed that each animal they slaughtered would pass through the stockyards at a standard fee. Boom years followed for the Fort Worth Stock Yards Company after the arrival of Armour and Swift. Immigrants came from Central Europe to work in the plants and settled in a community that stockyard officials incorporated in 1902 under the name North Fort Worth.

River Ranch Stockyards

The Stockyards are a wonderful recognition of Cattlemen and Cowboys steeped in the tradition of the American West; a place today doing primarily the same thing we were doing over 100 years ago. Cattle drives, rodeo, steam train, honky tonks, great places to shop and eat and more.
Sincerely,
