Report Illegal Fireworks
The City of Villa Park reminds residents to celebrate the Fourth of July safely by not using illegal fireworks and not tolerating those who do.

The only fireworks that are legal in Villa Park are those that are rated "Safe and Sane." Safe and Sane fireworks can be purchased from any authorized firework stand including those in Villa Park. Be sure to look for the fireworks sale permit and State of California Fire Marshal's seal that all stands are required to display. Fireworks bought in other states, over the Internet, or from any other source are illegal.

Legal fireworks may be only discharged on Monday, July 4th between 12:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Villa Park will continue to target violators this year by deploying extra deputies on July 4. The "zero tolerance" policy means everyone they catch violating the law will be cited. As a reminder, homeowners or tenants can and will be held responsible for what occurs on their property.

If you observe the sale or use of illegal fireworks, call the Orange County Sheriff's Department at (714) 647-7000 immediately. Your information will remain confidential and the sooner you report this information, the better!

Water Safety and Drowning Prevention
Now that the summer is here and temperatures are warming up, it is important to remember how important water safety is.

The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) and Orange County Supervisor, Todd Spitzer, have created this short 60-second video to help get the word out to Orange County residents about water safety.

If you have any questions about water safety or would like more information about ways to prevent drowning, please call OCFA at (714) 573-6000 or click here.
