AAA General Obligation Bond Ratings Place Chandler in Elite Company ::
The City of Chandler is regarded as one of the most stable destinations for private sector capital investment in the United States. This is evidenced by the fact that Chandler has for years been among a select group of municipalities to maintain the highest possible rating from the three major national bond rating agencies, Standard & Poor's, Fitch Ratings and Moody's Investors Services.
"One constant that I have witnessed in my time as Mayor has been a commitment to fiscal discipline," said Mayor Jay Tibshraeny. "City leadership has put sound, long-term fiscal policies in place that allow us to maintain a balanced and flexible financial plan for the future. Having a AAA bond rating from each of the three rating agencies shows that Chandler is going to remain strong in the coming years."
A recent analysis conducted by the City's financial advisor found that Chandler is one of only two municipalities in Arizona and 27 nationally
with a AAA rating from all three agencies (as of March 16, 2016).
High bond ratings mean the rating agencies are confident
in the City's financial management and economic outlook.
This translates into the
City being able to sell General Obligation bonds to finance voter-approved capital projects at lower interest rates. The high ratings also increase the value of existing General Obligation bonds for investors.

Air Ambulance Firm Moving to the Airpark ::
United Air Ambulance, an Arizona-based medevac service provider, is moving to Chandler
. The company has leased a 5,839 square foot suite in the Airpark at 2301 E. Yeager Drive. It will share the space with its industry partner, Air Ambulance Billing.
Locally owned and operated, United Air Ambulance
helps patients, sometimes in remote places, fly to receive urgent medical care.
It p
rovides air ambulance transports in all 50 states as well as a number of international locations. Along with moving into the larger space, the company plans to add new positions and enhance its transport capabilities, allowing it to serve more patients and families in need of critical medical treatment and care.

Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative Group Visits Chandler ::
On March 16, a group of high-achieving undergraduate students from Southeast Asia participating in the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) visited Chandler. While in Chandler, the students learned how the City and local partner organizations promote economic development and entrepreneurship within the community. The visit included a presentation on Chandler's business environment, overview of the Chandler Chamber of Commerce, and tours of Gangplank's coworking space, TechShop's makerspace and the City's "Innovations" incubator.
Arizona State University was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of State to host the YSEALI academic fellows, representing ten countries in Southeast Asia, from February 22 to March 25. Students were placed in one of two academic programs:
Civic Engagement or Social Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (SEED). Housed under the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, students in SEED explored topics such as social innovation, effective networking, leadership and communication strategies, and even developed their own entrepreneurial ideas and business models.
Launched in 2013, YSEALI was designed to not only strengthen ties between the United States and Southeast Asia, but also to catalyze innovation and initiatives to foster social change among various groups in the region.
The program focuses on critical topics identified by the region's youth, including civic engagement, environmental protection, education and economic development.
