Alabama State Bar honors BBVLP board members, supporters and volunteers

Congratulations to the following Birmingham Area state bar Pro Bono Award Winners:
-- Cumberland Public Interest Program Director  Cassandra Adams pictured with BBVLP Board Member Sam Franklin, who also won an award,
-- the law firm of Baker Donelson, represented by BBVLP Volunteer  Pat Clotfelter and BBVLP Board Member Lisa Borden,
-- and University of Alabama Assistant Dean for Public Interest Glory McLaughlin pictured with State Bar President Lee Copeland.

These winners were presented their awards at the Bench and Bar luncheon at the Alabama State Bar Annual Meeting last week in Sandestin. Please click here to read about their accomplishments.

As well as their accomplishments listed in the program, the honorees have also been leaders and supporters of the BBVLP. Cassandra Adams provides Cumberland Law student volunteers to the BBVLP and is a leader in organizing Wills Clinics and Homeless Clinics. Sam Franklin continues to be a BBVLP leader as he has since its inception more than 20 years ago and, without his diligent fundraising, the BBVLP would cease to exist. Lisa Borden, former BBVLP Board President and now a board member, and Pat Clotfelter, a longtime BBVLP volunteer, organize volunteers from Baker Donelson, which is also one of the BBVLP's top financial supporters. Glory McLaughlin provides University of Alabama law students to volunteer at the BBVLP and is an active supporter of the BBVLP's programing.

Congratulations to these and all the winners of state bar awards.
