Cumberland Council E-news 24 June 2016

A new era of transparency for Cumberland Council

As a new Council, it is important to create a strong foundation on which to buil d for the future. That is why Cumberland Council will be reforming the way we engage with the community through our website. A number of new online engagement tools will transfo rm the way residents view and have their say on development applications, planning proposals and other projects within the local government area.

The new reforms will simplify the process of engagement, allowing residents to provide their input wherever they may be through their personal devices, smart phones or computers. With this reform, the days of residents having to physically visit a Council office to view a development application will be over. They will be able to view development applications, their associated details and plans, online. In additional, they will be able submit comments, and view other comments, in relation to these development applications.

This reform will encompass the whole range of Council's engagement activities and will ensure Council is held accountable by residents in all aspects of its service.

These changes will be rolled out towards the end of the year. To be kept informed about this project, and all other Council news, please sign up to Cumberland Council's weekly e-news at www.cumberland.nsw.gov.au
