Student Pastors in their devotions

From 16 to 27 May, more than 50 brothers from a wide radius gathered at the William Carey School of Theology in Iloilo to study together and encourage one another in the Lord. Three courses were taught; two at the Certificate/Diploma level and one at the Bachelor level. In the first week, Rev. Carl Muller taught Homiletics while Rev. Paul Hudson offered a seminar in Theological Thesis writing. In the second week, Rev.Hudson continued with a New Testament Survey course.

Rev. Muller reflects:
It was my privilege to teach Homiletics to a group of 29 Filipino pastors. A collegial spirit, a teachable attitude, and a uniform desire to serve Christ and His church by becoming better
preachers characterized the men. Students like that make a teacher better than he is.
Not surprisingly then, the men seemed to find the course helpful and
benefited
not only from the information imparted but perhaps especially from the practical part of the course - "practice preaching" and the constructive criticism of that preaching. It was a particular encouragement to some of us who are older to see younger men who seemed to be mighty in the Scripture and filled with the Spirit. This bodes well for the future of God's work in this
corner of the Philippines.
