AZ Clean Elections ballot effort fails to collect enough signatures
Citing difficulties in collecting the required number of signatures to qualify for the November ballot, backers of an initiative that proposed to greatly increase the amount of taxpayer dollars given to political hopefuls, ended their efforts yesterday. The business community, including the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce and Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry, opposed this effort which also would have had a chilling effect on the right of businesses and individuals to engage in political speech in Arizona. We applaud Arizona residents for rejecting this proposal from the outset.

GPCC opposes legalization of recreational marjiuana
The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce opposes the passage of Arizona's Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act. The proposed measure would legalize the possession and consumption of marijuana for recreational purposes by individuals who are 21 years of age or older.

Support pro-business candidates!
The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce's Political Action Committee (PAC) has been designated as a state Super PAC, allowing us to continue our strong support of top-tier, pro-business candidates to an even greater degree. To maintain this ability, we must officially renew our Super PAC status. This is where we need the assistance of Chamber members and supporters of a strong business community. We need a minimum of 500 individual contributions of at least $10 by our goal date of June 30, 2016***Note: Chamber dues do not go towards the election of political candidates.
