Editorial: Don't add too many restaurants along St. Petersburg pier

Dining will be a key element of St. Petersburg's new pier, but the city should take another look at how much space it allots for restaurants. One signature eatery in the pierhead overlooking downtown may be a key to the project's success. But adding two more restaurants along the pier approach would be too much, create unfair competition for a flourishing Beach Drive and beyond, and add clutter to the beloved waterfront.
