 Manning will be honored for his achievements and contributions to the nation during the 59th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Dec. 6 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

Brooks covered Hawkeye football for more than 57 years, and the NFF presented him its Chris Schenkel Award in 2002 for excellence in broadcasting. 

1993 NFF Outstanding Football Official Award Recipient John Adams
John Adams, the Supervisor of Football Officials at the WAC from 1968-95, passed away June 21. "He made the game and its rules his passion," said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell. "He was like a grandfather, listening, nudging, but never taking his eye off the goal of developing the best rules for the game."

July 4, Fourth of July-  Celebrate the Fourth of July at the Hall of Fame! Enjoy patriotic décor throughout the building and delicious holiday food like hamburgers, hot dogs and and then watch the Centennial Olympic Park Fireworks Show at 6 p.m.

July 16, Football Blues- The College Football Hall of Fame will round out the stellar "Football Blues" tailgate series on July 16 with a patriotic twist. July 23, Mascot Day-  Show your favorite college mascots some love on Mascot Day! Fans who dress up as their favorite college mascot get FREE admission to the Hall on July 23. Guests must arrive in costume to our box office to receive free entry.

July 30, Educator Day- The Hall will hosts its own "Educator Day" and offer FREE admission to teachers and principals with valid identification. Educators can also learn about our free T.E.A.M.S. curriculum - a comprehensive lesson plan focused on technology, engineering, arts, mathematics and science. The Hall's compelling educational experience is sure to bring your class to its feet!
The College Football Hall of Fame opened its doors Aug. 23, 2014, in the heart of Atlanta's sports, entertainment and tourism district. Upcoming NFF Press Conference

The NFF will stage a press conference June 30 on the second floor of the  Tampa Convention Center, announcing the newest National Football Foundation Leadership Hall of Fame inductee. The announcement will be carried on Facebook Live at 2 p.m. EDT.
 
Several members of the Induction Dinner Host Committee, which includes  Archie Manning (NFF Chairman),  Paul Avery (World of Beer CEO and President), the Honorable Bob Buckhorn (Mayor of Tampa), Bryan Glazer (Tampa Bay Buccaneers Co-Chairman), Ken Jones (Third Lake Capital CEO), Kathleen Shanahan (Ground Works Solutions Chairman) and Jeff Vinik (Tampa Bay Lightning Owner) will participate in the announcement.

The Blitz
NFF Board Member and Alabama Director of Athletics Bill Battle will step away from the office for a few weeks as he receives treatment for multiple myeloma. All of us at the NFF are keeping him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

College Football Hall of Famer Pat Richter and 2010 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Scott Tolzien are among the former Wisconsin student-athletes that will participate in the 15th annual Legends of Wisconsin Golf Classic June 28.

College Football of Fame Coach Phillip Fulmer took center stage June 25 during a charity roast benefiting the  Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee.

2001 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Andre Davis has pledged a gift to help support Virginia Tech's  Leadership Institute and the football program.

NFF Chairman and 1989 College Football Hall of Fame inductee Archie Manning (Ole Miss) and his sons Peyton (the 1997 NFF William V. Campbell Trophy recipient from Tennessee), Eli (a 2003 NFF National Scholar-Athlete from Ole Miss) and Cooper concluded the 21st Manning Passing Academy on Sunday, impacting more than 1,200 high school players. The camp this year honored ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen, who is battling stage 4 throat cancer, by having all participants wear special wristbands.
Over The Middle
The NFFCHOF Bill Dooley (N.C.) Chapter will host its 14th annual Pigskin Preview July 18 at the Embassy Suites in Cary, N.C. The event will feature head football coaches from colleges in the region, including David Cutcliffe (Duke), Dave Doeren (N.C. State), Larry Fedora (North Carolina), Jerry Mack (N.C. Central) and Scottie Montgomery (East Carolina). All proceeds from the event benefit the chapter's scholarship program.

The NFF Nebraska Chapter will hold its Hall of Fame Banquet on Sept. 9 at the University of Nebraska's Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.

Auburn has scheduled a home-and-home series with Penn State for the 2021 and 2022 seasons, marking its first regular season game against a Big Ten opponent ever...  Penn State also announced that it will host Buffalo in 2019 and Ball State in 2021... Georgia has added East Tennessee State to its 2020 schedule... Oklahoma State and Arizona State have agreed to a home-and-home series for 2022 and 2023... Arizona State also moved back its home-and-home series with LSU, announced a new home-and-home series with San Diego State and added future games with Kent State, Southern Utah and Texas State... Kansas State scheduled a home-and-home series with Washington State for 2026 and 2029 and added future games with Presbyterian and Abilene Christian... Colorado added a future game against North Dakota State in 2024 and a home-and-home series with Kansas State in 2027 and 2028... Buffalo announced future games with Nebraska, Rutgers and Delaware State... ROOT SPORTS will televise eight live Mountain West football games in 2016... The Ohio Valley Conference announced an eight-game football "Game of the Week" package that will be carried exclusively on ESPN3 this fall... The Colonial Athletic Association announced an extensive 30-game television package for the 2016 football season... NCAA Division II announced 18 of the 22 regular-season football games that will be carried on ESPN3, WatchESPN and the American Sports Network this fall... ESPN Chicago 1000 has reached a multiyear agreement to broadcast every Notre Dame football game beginning this fall...

Milestones

Clemson announced it has sold all available 2016 football season tickets... Penn State's Student Section sold out more than 21,200 tickets and has now consistently sold out for four decades...

The University of Alabama Board of Trustees approved the creation of a new research center focused on developing technologies for sports performance enhancement and injury reduction... Oklahoma approved new design modifications for the Strength Training and Performance Center Addition project... A new turf and field design will be installed at Buffalo's UB Stadium... Ohio's Board of Trustees will be asked this week to approve $620,000 in expenditures to design a new student-athlete academic center... An approved master plan for Citadel athletics facilities calls for more than $33 million in improvements and new buildings... Grand Valley State (Mich.)'s Lubbers Stadium is getting a new video display board... 
Rice has made progress on its new scoreboard and sound system, which will be ready for the start of the 2016 season.

UAB announced that Mike Thompson, President and CEO of Thompson Tractor Co. Inc., has made a $500,000 commitment in support of the school's new Football Operations Center... Former Marshall All-America defensive end Vinny Curry donated $200,000 to the Big Green Scholarship Foundation for facility renovations and the endowment of a scholarship in his mother's name...

Miami (Ohio) revealed its new uniforms for the 2016 season... North Dakota has unveiled a logo and wordmark for its new Fighting Hawks nickname... North Carolina State will wear throwback uniforms for its game on Oct. 8 as the school celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first game in Carter-Finley Stadium...
