Summer is here!  Join us for Family Play Days in Madison and Reidsville, indoor tennis fun at the Rockingham County Libraries or grab your racket and head to the NEWLY RESURFACED courts at Rockingham Community College.

Our young players from from Parkview Village and New Vision Kids Companion summer camps are enjoying Kids Tennis Clubs with the help of Coach Jackie and two young summer interns.  Don't forget to register for TWO MORE WEEKS of Eaglemania Summer tennis lessons with Caleb Shelton from Precision Tennis Academy for players in grades 1-8!

MAKING PLANS FOR SUMMER?  SAVE TIME FOR TENNIS CAMP
Summer is a great time for young players to improve their tennis skills or learn to play. We have TWO summer tennis camp offerings in Rockingham County.

Eaglemania tennis lessons are for youth in grades 1-8 and led by Precision Tennis Academy's Caleb Shelton on the newly resurfaced courts at Rockingham Community College in Wentworth.  Players in grades 1-4 meet the weeks of July 11 and 18.  Grades 5-8 meet the week of July 18.  Click here for Eaglemania registration information.

Eden Family YMCA offers weekly Summer Tennis Camps for ages 6-17 led by teaching professional Bitrus Istifanus.  YMCA members and non-members are welcome.  To register for summer tennis at the Eden Family YMCA, contact Bitrus Istifanus at (336) 623-9636

SIX "NEW" COURTS ROCKINGHAM COMMUNITY COLLEGE 
The crew from Court One:Tennis Court Builders is busy this summer resurfacing six courts at Rockingham Community College.  These are the first updated courts in Rockingham County since 2000!

FOUR Rockingham County School tennis teams play home matches at RCC and the courts are open to the public for community play and events. Three of the courts have blended lines for 10&Under red and orange ball players. 

This project is supported by funds from the RCC Foundation, Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, USTA Facilities, and USTA NC Raise the Net grant programs. 
MEET COACH JACKIE AND SUMMER INTERNS GABRIELLE AND TRISTAN 
Jackie Cantrell, Gabrielle and Tristan Hollifield join us on the courts at Jaycee Park with Parkview Village Kids Tennis Club players and for RC Tennis community events this summer.  

This is Coach Jackie's third summer volunteering with Rockingham County Tennis.  She lives in Eden  and has attended USTA 10&Under Coaches Workshops and NJTL training.  She leads the on-court tennis activities at Eden Parks & Recreation summer camp.  Her tennis wish?  "I would like to see every child age 6-18 on the courts at Jaycee Park for Junior Team Tennis".

Gabrielle has been playing tennis for three years on both Holmes Middle School and Morehead High School tennis teams. She is a member of the USTA and a plays Rockingham County Junior Team Tennis.  "I love to play tennis with my family and friends."

Tristan will be in the 8th Grade at Holmes Middle School this fall and also joins his sister for Rockingham County Junior Team Tennis.  He's been playing tennis for three years and LOVES it!

KIDS TENNIS CLUBS - A SUMMER OF FUN
SUMMER KIDS TENNIS CLUBS continue in July with Parkview Village Summer Enrichment Camp on the courts at Jaycee Park in Reidsville and New Vision Kids Companion Summer Camp meet at Carlyle Lewis courts in Madison.  

These summer USTA Kids Tennis Clubs are supported by a catalyst small project funds from the NC Public Health Foundation.
  
  
JULY SUMMER SIZZLER JUNIOR TOURNAMENT FOR 10 & UNDER PLAYERS
GRETA 10 AND UNDER LEVEL 6 TOURNAMENTS AT PRECISION TENNIS ACADEMY in Greensboro - SUNDAY July 24

GRETA's "July Sizzler L6" round robin event takes place in one day on Sunday July 24 at Precision Tennis Academy in Bur-Mill Park Greensboro.  

This Level 6 tournament for players age 10 and Under is the perfect next step for our Play Day and Junior Team Tennis players to  test their game, play multiple matches and make friends along the way.
