Special Events in July

Yoga, Thursday, July 7, 2:00-3:00 pm
An instructor from ChildLight Yoga will lead this class geared for children in preschool through age 8 with a caregiver. Sign-up required.
 
Storyteller Simon Brooks, Monday, July 11, 6:30-7:30 pm (Family Event)  
The charming Simon Brooks will delight listeners young and old with his folktales, myths, and legends. Enjoy an evening of delightful stories.
 
Minecraft Crafts, Tuesday, July 12, 1:00-5:00 pm (Family Craft) 
Minecraft fans are invited to stop in and make a creation based on this popular video game.      
 
Thank a Hero, Thursday, July 14, 2:00-3:00 pm  (Family Event)  
We will be packing donated items and making cards to send to an Air Force Squadron in Afghanistan. Ask them questions via Skype.
 
Children's Museum, Tuesday, July 19, 6:30-7:30 pm      
Children's Museum of NH will bring their program "Amazing Adventures: Healthy Minds Spark Makers" to the library. This program is for children ages 5-11 . Sign-up is required.
 
Climbing Wall, Wednesday, July 20, 2:00-4:00 (Ages 4 and up)
Can you make it to the top of the 24 foot wall? Come test your climbing skills on the lawn of the McConnell Center.
 
Call Me Amy
Book Group, Thursday, July 21, 2:00-3:00 (Grades 4 and up)  
Meet author Marcia Strykowski and discuss her book Call Me Amy . Make a craft related to the book. Books available in the children's room.
  
Basketball Show at SOCC, Wednesday, July 27, 10:00-11:00 am (Family Event) 
Ilze Luneau will perform her basketball wizardry at the Seymour Osman Community Center . Her skills will astound and her message will inspire.
      
Book Buddies, Thursday, July 28, 2:00-3:00 pm (Preschool-High School)
Little kids will be matched up with a big kid for books, crafts, and snacks.

Harry Potter Party, Saturday, July 30, 9:00 am-1:00 pm (Family Event)
Celebrate Harry Potter's birthday (a day early) with lots of Hogwarts fun. Food, crafts, games, and prizes.
          
Lego Saturday

 
Every summer Saturday is a Lego Saturday (July 9,16, 23, and 30) . Use our Legos and/or Duplos to build and create. Meet new friends, share your building tips, get new ideas, and have fun!
 
Drop-In Storytime
                    

Each Wednesday during the summer (July 6, 13, 20) we will offer a family storytime at 10:00 am
in the Lecture Hall. Children with their caregivers will enjoy stories, songs, fingerplays, puppets, and games. No need to sign-up, just come and join the fun.

Friday Family Fun

On Friday mornings in the summer ( July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29) we will offer a fun-filled  line-up of events for our youngest patrons.

Creation Station

Each week of the summer reading program, there will be a sports-themed craft at the creation station to make and take.
