IIAN Board Sets New Goals In Norfolk
Every summer IIAN's Board of Directors meets to focus on strategic priorities and plan for the future. This year's meeting in Norfolk was chaired by
IIAN President Mike Jones. Two exciting new directions: a new statewide program to help young agents grow and succeed, and a new program to help member agencies connect with graduating college students across the state, in partnership with the IIAN Foundation. Stay tuned for future developments!

IIAN Board Selection Process
|
Each July IIAN's Nominating committee meets to review candidates for recommendation for election to the IIAN Board of Directors. The election happens during the Annual Member Meeting at IIAN's Annual Convention each year - this year it's on October 26 at the Younes Conference Center in Kearney.

Each year IIAN recognizes the contributions of outstanding individuals who have given service and support to the Independent Agency System in Nebraska. This year's awards will be presented during the 109th Annual Convention, October 25-27, at the Younes Convention Center in Kearney. Please take a few minutes to nominate your choices in the following categories:
Five Star Company of the Year, Company Representative of the Year, Young Agent of the Year, Spirit of Nebraska Award, and Trusted Choice® Agency of the Year.

ROBESON MARKS 10 YEARS OF SERVICE FOR IIAN MEMBERS
Congratulations to
IIAN Director of Operations Nancy Robeson, who completed 10 years of service at IIAN in May. "In addition to managing IIAN's wide range of education programs and conventions, Nancy has done great work developing our member data base and web site, which is a great resource for IIAN members," commented IIAN CEO Carol McClelland, who presented Robeson's 10-year award on June 16 in Norfolk, during the IIAN summer board planning session. This year Robeson is serving as president of the Big "I" state association national users group, and during her tenure, IIAN has won numerous national Excellence in Education awards .

New .insurance Domain Names Now Available
|
The internet domain extension reserved for the global insurance industry- .insurance - became available on June 15. Registration of the dot .insurance suffix - known as a gTLD (generic Top Level Domain) - is being managed by fTLD Registry Services, an organization owned and operated by banks, insurance companies and financial services trade associations.

Slow Premium Growth & Rising Losses
|
U.S. property/casualty insurers saw their net written premium growth slow to 3.4 percent in 2015 from 4.2 percent a year earlier, while their net income after taxes grew to $56.6 billion in 2015 from $55.9 billion in 2014, according to ISO, and the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI).
