COMMODITY FUTURES TRADING COMMISSION
Market Risk Advisory Committee open meeting (available via conference call)  to discuss recommendations about how clearinghouses can coordinate to prepare for the default of a significant member. The group also will discuss the roles of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the CFTC in the potential resolution of both banks and clearinghouses in the event of a default.  The health of clearing organizations is a hot topic among regulators around the world, who are concerned that mandatory clearing of swaps has concentrated enormous amounts of risk at clearinghouses.
