Institute for Emerging Issues FutureWork Prosperity Bus Tour
 
Triangle J COG  partnered with the Institute for Emerging Issues  to host its FutureWork Prosperity Bus Tour for this region. The Board of Delegates meeting time was dedicated to discuss the future of the region's economy. The emphasis of the presentation was on workforce preparedness.

ACTION:  The Board of Delegates participated in the presentation and engaged in discussion. 
Budget Amendment

In order to remain compliant with the NC Budget and Fiscal Control Act, the Executive Committee met to address a budget amendment due to changes in revenues in regard to contract changes and grant funding, routine end of year adjustments to the budget, and new grants. Specifically, TJCOG Area Agency on Aging received a new grant from Duke Hospital for "The Duke Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program: Communities Caring for Seniors." The Water Resources Division received a new grant from the NC Dept. of Environmental Quality to facilitate the scientific advisory board for nutrient impaired waters. 

ACTION:  The Executive Committee unanimously approved the budget amendment.
Executive Committee Closed Session for Executive Director Review

As permitted by North Carolina General Statutes Section 143-318.11 (a) (6), the Executive Committee went into Closed Session to conduct its annual performance review of TJCOG Executive Director Lee Worsley. 

ACTION: After concluding the closed session and returning to open session, the Executive Committee unanimously approved a 3% merit increase to the Executive Director's salary.

Note that there is no meeting in July.
