Community Engagement Digest - Summer 2016
A Word about the Committee for Community Engagement
Over the last several months our non-profit members have been convening to network, share best practices, and discuss their upcoming events and current needs. We hope this digest will not only shine a light on our non-profit members, but also inspire you and other members of our community to get engaged with these groups and help continue to make Holly Springs a community we can all be proud of!

American Cancer Society
Relay For Life Re-Cap

12 teams and hundreds of people participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Southern Wake County on May 20 at North Main Athletic Complex. The event has currently raised $18,490 to help the American Cancer Society save lives through groundbreaking cancer research, education and risk reduction efforts, and free information and critical services for people with cancer who need them.

We are currently $12,000 away from our goal. The Event Leadership Team is working on additional fundraisers to help is meet this goal. We will host a Pink and Purple Night with the Salamanders on July 22. Tickets benefitting Relay For Life will be available soon to purchase.

We are starting to plan our 2017 event. We are looking for volunteers to help serve on the Event Leadership Team. Our goal is to see Relay grow in Southern Wake County. If you or someone you know is interested in taking up the fight against cancer, please call Ashley Wickline at 919-302-4557.
