Trilingual Interpreting: Strategies for Continued Success in a Demanding Field

Trilingual interpreters will undoubtedly work with consumers who have migrated to the U.S. with varied educational experience and attitudes from their home country that may or may not shape their communication. This workshop will begin with foundational knowledge of the U.S. migration process, healthcare, and legal systems, and offer a discussion on how it affects language, communication, and interpretation. Finally, it will touch on cultural awareness and how it applies to the work of a trilingual interpreter. Activities will be hands-on interpreting practice in addition to group discussion.
