Heller Waldman Files Updated Jockey Club Complaint, Names Partner, Again Earns Industry Recognition and Opens New Location
Jockey Club Condominium
Associations File New Complaint Against Apeiron and
Other Club Residents
MIAMI, Fla. June 28, 2016 -  Following the filing of an initial lawsuit in March against real estate developer Apeiron Miami, LLC, on behalf of the 259 unit owners in Jockey Club Buildings I and II, Heller Waldman has now filed a subsequent complaint in the 11th Judicial Circuit Court of Miami-Dade County on behalf of these residents. The latest suit, as reported by The RealDeal, seeks damages and relief from Apeiron to block it from taking over the Jockey Club's common areas and calls for the remaining building, Jockey Club III, which signed a deal with the developer in exchange for a number of inducements, to adhere to its obligations to the other buildings. "We're not going to sit idly by, as Apeiron tries to use deteriorating infrastructure as a pawn to gain approvals for its project," Glen Waldman said.

 Jeffrey R. Lam
Jeffrey R. Lam
Jeffrey Lam has been named partner at Heller Waldman, just short of his two-year anniversary at the firm.  Lam, who joined the litigation team under Glen Waldman in July of 2014 with nine years of civil trial experience, has focused his practice on complex commercial, business and civil litigation, including employment, real property, construction, breach of contract and probate disputes. During his tenure at Heller Waldman, he has worked on numerous land-use litigation cases in concert with other firm members to secure wins on behalf of the firm's clients. These clients include PrivĂ© at Island Estates, a development currently under construction off of Williams Island in Aventura, and residents of Grove Isle, who last year sought and won a permanent injunction against a developer who had planned to close a club that hosted luxury amenities. "Jeff is an excellent lawyer and I am proud to have him join Eleanor, Jason and me as a partner in the litigation group of our law firm," Waldman said. "Great things are expected of Jeff."
