Rabbi's Message

The other day I officiated at a funeral that was attended by about sixty people almost all of whom were affluent, highly intelligent and dedicated Jewish Americans. When it came to reciting the mourner's prayer, the Kaddish, not one...NOT ONE...was able to read the Hebrew and since the transliteration is difficult to read even with a good Jewish background, the crowd was ominously silent.

If we don't know the glory of our 4000 year history, then the future looks hopeless because we won't be equipped to pass along the basic tenets of our Jewish lives.

So CAT is starting a Judaism 101 class (read more below), taught by me with a little help from my friends. Please, I urge you to attend our classes and learn what we as a people are all about.  You will be amazed and proud of our tenacity and strength and what it means to follow the basic tenets of our religion.

No we're not being funny. Those are just two recipes listed in "Celebrity Kosher Cookbook."

Published in 1975, Rabbi Jerry Cutler and Marilyn Hall (Monty's wife) joined forces to collect as many recipes as they could. Notable contributors include Lucille Ball, Joan Rivers, Kirk Douglas, and Walter Matthau.
