Thank you to Dr. Cyndi Yag-Howard, chair of the AMA Council on Constitution and Bylaws and  Dr. Corey Howard, chair of the FMA Delegation and Member of the AMA Speakers' Advisory Committee, who attended the AMA Annual Meeting in Chicago.

Dr. Howard and the FMA delegation led the way to passage of the Florida resolution (co-introduced by CA, GA, PA, WA, NY, VA) - "Continuing Medical Education Pathway for Recertification". He was also quoted in the MedPage Today article, AMA Pans 'High Stakes' Exams. The new policy supports the immediate end to all mandatory re-certification exams by the American Board of Medical Specialties and all other certifying organizations as part of the recertification process.

Only comments formally submitted through the process outlined in the Federal Register will be taken into consideration by CMS. Please submit all comments by 5:00 p.m. ET (for mail or courier submissions) and 11:59 p.m. ET (for electronic submissions) on June 27, 2016.

Practice Transformation Networks (PTNs) have been funded by CMS to the tune of $685 million to help physicians navigate from fee-for-service to value-based care.
There are 3 in Florida which can help physicians with free resources. Each PTN is different and some are only focused on primary care, or rural practices, or academic. Download the map of the funded PTNs to contact the network in your area.
