Ben's Buzz
Special Edition

June 22, 2016

We hope you are having a wonderful start to your summer vacation!  The office will be open over the summer from 9 am to 3pm.  Please send us photos and a short note from your summer adventures; we'd love to see what you're up to!  We will hang them on the bulletin board outside Mrs. Zolnowski's office.

We have a few staff departures to announce, we hope you will join us in wishing them all the best:

Deb Balcareck
has thoughtfully and excitedly taught Art this past school year to grades K-8. She has done an excellent job connecting to our students, and is very sad to have to leave BFCCPS after only her first year due to personal and family reasons.  It is our hope that we will cross paths again during our planned expansion, and that we will be able to work with Mrs. Balcarek again!

Beth DiMartino returned to BFCCPS part time as a Math Coach this year, and has since accepted a full time teaching position a little closer to home.  Beth will be incredibly missed here at BFCCPS and we wish her all the best of luck in her new school.

Melissa Herliczek has been teaching Science to our  Grade 7 and 8 students for the last four years. During her tenure Melissa has transformed our science program, worked on the Vision Board for Expansion and served as a member of our Mission Committee. She literally leaves big shoes to fill and we wish her all the best of luck as she begins her new journey.

Donna Mann
has worked at BFCCPS with students in Grades 1 and 2 for a number of years and has also cheerfully worked as a member of our Express Dismissal Crew.  Mrs. Mann is leaving to take care of a sick family member and we know she will be an absolutely loving and attentive caregiver.

Rick Stemple
joined BFCCPS four years ago to teach Library and Technology to students in grades K-8. In his time here he has also taught Conversational Spanish, Programming Classes, and played in the Orchestra Pit for our annual spring musicals.  We wish Mr. Stemple all the best of luck in his future endeavors.

Sandra Perry
celebrated her retirement with the students and staff this spring. She served as a French and Latin teacher for the past nine years at BFCCPS. Her enthusiasm for her subject matter is evident in the great strides our students have made in Latin during her time here.  Please join us in wishing Dr. Perry a relaxing and enjoyable retirement.

Have a great rest of the week!

Summer Assignments, Supply Lists and
Binder Order Forms:

You can download the Summer Assignments here on the BFCCPS Website.

If you've happened to misplace your copy, the class supply lists are also available on the school website here.

In order to explicitly teach and practice organizational skills in the classroom, we require students for grades 4, 5 and 6 to create a binder organization system.

BFCCPS has pre-purchased in bulk the supplies for the system, and order forms have been sent home with your students in their report cards.  All binder orders are due by August 4th to ensure that students have their materials in place for their first day of school.
Regional Transportation:

If you reside outside of Franklin, but within the BFCCPS Region you are eligible for our Regional Transportation Program.

We are developing our regional transportation service for the 2016-2017 school year. As a reminder, this regional transportation offering would consist of community bus stops throughout the region, this would not be a door-to-door service.

To submit events for the School Calendar or to place building space requests please fill out a Blue Sheet in the front office and submit to the Assistant Head of School, Joe Perna.

To submit content to the Buzz for publication, please email Joanne Basile with your 2-3 sentence blurb by no later than Monday at noon for publication in that Wednesday's issue.
