REMEMBERING ORLANDO'S VICTIMS AND RESPONDING TO HATE

As we mourn those who died in the Pulse nightclub shooting and stand with the injured, the people of Orlando, and all victims of hate, we recognize the need to organize and find ways to support LGBTQ people in our communities who may be feeling the fear that terrorism and hate crimes are designed to incite.

NIOT has created hate crime response action steps for local communities to reference. Together, we can take a stand against hate.

BLOOMINGTON-NORMAL NIOT TO MARK 20 YEARS OF ACTIVISM

We're looking forward to celebrating a 20-year milestone for Not In Our Town Bloomington-Normal. A commemorative march on June 28, has been planned and will begin at the downtown square where the community first came together in 1996 to march in unity against racism.

"Come see how a community embraces and respects and celebrates the diversity of its citizens," said Barbara Adkins, one of the original NIOT Bloomington leaders. - Courtesy of The Pantagraph
