The Road Report - June 24, 2016

The Warren County Transportation Improvement District (WCTID), along with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), the City of Mason, Deerfield Township, and other local partners, are working on making transportation improvements throughout southwest Warren County to ensure our local infrastructure meets the needs of our growing community.

Currently, there are four active projects under construction - Socialville-Fosters Road Improvements, the  relocation of Columbia Road,   Kings Island Drive Improvements and the Irwin-Simpson Road Widening project. Each week, we will provide an update on the status of these projects.

While we recognize there is a significant amount of roadwork taking place this summer, each project has been carefully planned and organized as part of a coordinated regional program - including the Interchange Improvements at the Fields-Ertel & Mason-Montgomery Road exit - that will increase mobility, improve safety and expand access to a growing number of businesses and world-class recreational destinations in our area.

Please visit our partners at ImagineWesternRow.com for more detailed project information and a more thorough discussion of our regional improvement program.

Thank you for your patience during construction season, and as always, please slow down and drive safely.

Some issues to be mindful of as work continues:
  • Additional nighttime work is ongoing, but the noise level should not be as intense as the recent pile driving work.
  • Various lane closures on I-71 at the Socialville-Fosters bridge will continue to occur nightly between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • The six week closure at Socialville-Fosters Road and Innovation Way continues through early July.
  • The 40-week closure on Socialville-Fosters Road at the bridge over I-71 continues through the end of the year, and the detour (Mason-Montgomery Road to Western Row Road to Columbia Road) remains in place during that time.

  • Electric work is now taking place on the improved lighting along the new roadway.
KEEP AN EYE ON
Some issues to be mindful of as work continues:
  • There are no full closures or detours in place related to this work; however, there are various lane closures and traffic impacts throughout the project area, primarily from Soak City Drive to the new entrance of Kings Island. If it's been a while since you've driven this road, the traffic pattern has likely changed, so please slow down, read the signs, and be mindful of other drivers as you drive through this area.
