Rutgers' Supercomputer Is 8th Most Powerful in U.S.

A new global ranking of the world's most powerful supercomputers issued this week ranks Rutgers' new supercomputer, named Caliburn, #2 among Big Ten universities, #8 among U.S. academic institutions, #49 among academic institutions globally and #166 among all supercomputers worldwide. It was built with a $10 million award to Rutgers from the New Jersey Higher Education Leasing Fund. Read more

NJPAC, RU-Newark Host Annual Female Jazz Residency Program

The 3rd annual All-Female Jazz Residency of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), a week-long, summer intensive program for aspiring women jazz professionals, will take place at RU-Newark this July. This partnership with the Institute of Jazz Studies at RU-Newark will enable young women from 14 -25 years old to reside, study and rehearse at 15 Washington Street, the beautifully restored, historic 1930 skyscraper on the RU-Newark campus. RU-Camden Student-Athlete Is Jackie Robinson Scholar

As a star first baseman for youth baseball teams in and around his hometown of Barrington, the 6-foot-4 Skyler Glover gained a reputation as an imposing presence in the heart of the lineup. But, more importantly, the RU-Camden sophomore came to command attention as a leader - one known for his consistent, steady approach both inside and outside the lines. It's this same exemplary character, grit and determination that earned Glover the nod as the 2016 Phillies Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) Jackie Robinson Scholar. The RBI program, with more than 260,000 participants in more than 200 cities worldwide, is an MLB youth outreach program. Read
