July 14th is moving day for the Coyls. The freight will be loaded, and we'll be heading south, taking a four-day tour along I 65 to exotic ports of call like; Seymour, Indiana, Brentwood, Tennessee, and Montgomery Alabama.
A Chinese philosopher once said,
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Our journey of 983 miles begins with two cars, six kids, an extra
large coffee and a great deal of excitement. It ends at a beginning, when we
arrive at our new home on the 18th.
July 24th will be my first Sunday as pastor of Pensacola Beach Community Church.
Together we'll consider a story from Luke's Gospel, in which one of
Jesus' disciples asks Jesus how to pray. Jesus gives him an example
and then tells a story to illustrate what a prayerful life looks like from a
divine/human perspective. In the New Revised Standard Version
of the Bible, Jesus uses the word
"
persistence
" in his teaching.
Jesus explains that prayer should be a constant, honest,
conversation
with God, offered from our point of need.
According to Jesus, God wants to hear from us regularly.
This prayerful, persistent spirit is alive at The Beach Church and your persistence has been enhanced with patience. I've experienced this in your willingness to
wait for our arrival. Your persistent and patient faithfulness has allowed me time
to properly finish the work I was called to in Michigan and has also given my
family time to prepare
for our mission together on Florida's Gulf Coast.
Before we took a single step on this journey together, we prayed and those
prayers continue and are answered one step at a time.
See you on the Beach!
Grace and Peace,
Jim
