Habitat Cabarrus Hosts New Home Dedication
On Tuesday, June 14th, we dedicated our 144th new home in Cabarrus County to Kristina and her 3 daughters. This is also the 9th Habitat home in the Logan community which has revitalized an entire street into rainbow row.

Many came out to welcome her home. She has put in over 250 sweat equity hours on her home and other Habitat homes and will assume a 0% mortgage.

This weekend, you can see them in person and all of the possibilities that tiny homes can offer at the Tiny Homes Expo being held at the Cabarrus Events Center in Concord NC from June 24-26, 2016.  With small footprints, but big options, tiny homes give buyers the best of everything.

Hundreds of Women Build for Habitat
Hundreds of women in our community have joined forces to work on our Women Build house in Magnolia Crossing. These women are building a home for our future homeowner, Julie and her five granddaughters. Check out one of our team's videos above as well as our photo gallery of all of our other Women Build teams on Facebook.

Elevation Church Helps with Second Tiny House
Do you remember where you were 8/29/05? Lucy Jackson does - vividly.  She lived in New Orleans and that's the date hurricane Katrina hit her city and demolished her home. Lucy had extended family in Cabarrus County and that's how she ended up in Concord, fleeing only with the possessions she could carry in two suitcases. Lucy moved into a house that had been divided into multiple apartments in Concord. She was happy to find a 350-foot space she could afford.

2016 Scholarship Award Recipient
Dana Conner Richardson was the Program Director for Habitat for Humanity, Cabarrus County when she lost her battle to cancer on June 26, 2010 just 3 days after her 42nd birthday.  Dana was deeply committed to the principles of Habitat for Humanity and the elimination of poverty in Cabarrus County.  She was also a strong believer in higher education as demonstrated by the fact that she was the first in her family to graduate from college. This scholarship is a living legacy to Dana and these principles that were foundations in her life.
