West Maple Road  - Cranbrook Rd to Southfield Rd
Asphalt Resurfacing Project
PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT
W. MAPLE RD. - CRANBROOK RD. TO SOUTHFIELD RD.
ASPHALT RESURFACING PROJECT

Work is planned to begin the week of June 27th to resurface West Maple Road between Cranbrook and Southfield Roads. The process for this work is outlined below and further updates on this project will be provided as outlined later in this announcement. It is our intent to minimize the closure and disruption during this project with an aggressive time frame. The resurfacing project will be conducted in three (3) phases, as described below:

Phase 1 (Approximately 3 weeks) - Almost all sidewalk handicap ramps need to be removed along the corridor to meet current federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. The Contractor will work with Maple Road open to traffic, using the adjacent local streets as the access points.

Phase 2 (Approximately 2 weeks) - A relatively small amount of concrete curb and gutter needs to be replaced. This work will require shifting traffic from one side to the other, but two (2) lanes will be maintained at all times.

Phase 3 (Approximately 4 weeks) - In the third and final phase, the existing asphalt surface will be removed and replaced with new asphalt. The underlying older concrete pavement will also be repaired where needed. Starting in August, the plans call for detouring traffic to Quarton Road during this phase.
