Dear Members of our Tall Pines School Community,
There are two things we need to communicate today.
One is with respect to Mrs. Shelley Richards, who has been our senior French teacher for many, many years.
Mrs. Richards' last day of work at Tall Pines School was Wednesday. She has retired from teaching, and plans to move with her husband to Wasaga Beach. Unfortunately, during all the emotional upheaval yesterday, Mrs. Richards suffered what was apparently a mild heart attack, and was taken to the hospital. It was unfortunate that Mrs. Richards was not able to return to school to say goodbye to the students at the end of the day, and she felt very badly about that.
At this time, we do not have any further information, but trust that Mrs. Richards is in good hands and will recover. We wish her all the best.
The second item is with respect to the Live Broadcast of the Awards Ceremony yesterday. We know that many members of our community appreciated being able to see the ceremony through the online service Periscope, and many have been watching the replay. Unfortunately, there were a number of unfortunate comments posted on the Periscope feed, comments which were very distracting, and which had little to do with the event. For this reason, we have chosen to remove the replay of the video. We regret the inconvenience to our families, and hope that for future events, we can find another way to broadcast to our community.
The school will now be closed until the start of the Summer Camp weeks on July 4th.
