Commercial Drones - Heroes or Villains?

Friday, June 24, 8:30 p.m.
The mere mention of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (aka drones) conjures up a range of emotions: from fear (of privacy violations), to excitement (about innovative technology), to relief (at enabling safer work environments). At this presentation, learn how drones, like most technology, can be used for beneficial applications or evil purposes. Attendees will have the opportunity to fly drones in a controlled environment and take some videos of their flights.
Mobile Outreach Vehicle (MOVE) Demonstration
The project (MOVE stands for Mobile Outreach VEhicle) is sponsored by IEEE-USA with funding from the IEEE Foundation. Its first disaster relief vehicle hit the road in April. The truck is equipped with portable phone chargers, a battery recharging station, and access to the Internet via satellite.
