I recently discovered the work of Ross Rosenberg, a Chicago-based counselor whose book "The Human Magnet Syndrome: Why We Love People Who Hurt Us" has received critical acclaim.  His work argues that most romantic relationships in adulthood are organized around a codependent person (typically, but not always, the woman) falling into a relationship with a narcissistic person (typically, but not always, the man).

This relationship configuration is doomed to fail, even though both persons shared averse relational factors early in development yet attempted to adapt to these factors in very different ways.

In the next meetings of the Men's Group (Saturday, 12/14/13, 10:45 AM to 12:00 PM noon) and the Dating and Relationship Group (Saturday, 12/14/13, 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM), I will discuss the developmental origins of codependence and narcissism, and their impact on relationships as well as general aspects of life functioning.

If you plan to attend, I recommend that you view Rosenberg's youtube videos on codependency and narcissism

The group meetings will be held this Saturday, 12/14, at The Water Garden Business Center, 23421 South Pointe Drive, Suite 130, Laguna Hills, CA, 92653. Please RSVP to [email protected] or 949-338-4388.  The fee is $25.00.
