PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

PRESIDENTS' MESSAGE

Well, its been a crazy month.  Gearing up for the primary left us all drained with many surprises and many disappointments.  Many of the races are so close it could be another week or two before we know the outcome. And with some a call for a recount could be required. if you wish to see the results you can go sos.ca.gov and click on Election Results.

Many of our members worked as poll workers and over and over again we heard of abnormalities.  My own daughter called wanting to know how to help a friend who was told she couldn't vote because she was registered as an Independent??? Her friend was somewhat confused given the fact she had been a Republican her entire vote life. I told her to go back to her polling place and demand to be given a provisional ballot, then to seek out a poll observer to file a complaint with EIP official.  Unfortunately this has been a cry by thousands of voters throughout California.  Registrations being changed without voters knowledge.  Just yesterday I read that a law suit has been filed in San Diego County.  We need to do this in every county up and down the state.  San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura and Riverside all had similar occurrences. If you know of people that this happened to please refer them to the Election Integrity Project group lead by Linda Paine. www.electionintegrityproject.com/california/home/. Anything suspicious needs to be reported to EIP and the county.  There are forms available at sos.ca.gov to report any irregularities.

We are just about moved into our headquarters at 485 Central Ave, Upland.  By our next meeting on June 27th we will be ready to begin the task at hand, which is getting all our Republicans elected.  In order to do that we need your help, your voices to make phone calls and help with walks and putting together walk packets with flyers from all our candidates. We are open on Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  We will be adjusting our hours as we see the need.  Please feel free to stop by anytime and spend some time and just talk.

July fourth will be here sooner than we know.  We need volunteers to sign up for two to three hour shifts.  We especially need some guys to help with set up and tear down.  We will have a full booth and we are looking for big donations for all our great jewelry, cookbooks, and don't worry, we have Trump shirts and hats.  It's going to be a great time for all who attend and we have all kinds of goodies for the kiddos too.  Please, if you can, come out and volunteer an hour or two.  We would especially appreciate help with the tear down which will start at 3:00 p.m.

As we go forward we will be doing our best to represent the wishes of our entire membership. If you are members please know that the board works for you.  If you wish to join our club please know that we are an engaged club with our communities, counties and state issues.  We are active in calling, walking and making sure the peoples voice is heard.  Much too often we are being ignored by our city councils and our state representatives.  We need to hold them accountable to "We The People" for the choices they are" supposedly" making on our behalf. So please join us over the next few months in making sure we do everything possible to GET OUT THE VOTE.  To make sure that the 50% who choose not to vote in the primary know the consequences of not voting.  My goal is to educate everyone on the downfall of Prop. 14 and how the top two vote getter's is intended to destroy the Republican Party.

Also, we have a new phone number at the headquarters:
it is 909 579-1623.

I look forward to seeing you all at the HQ and working to GOTV.

FROM MY PERSPECTIVE

                    By Carolyn Gonzales

"DON'T FENCE ME IN"

"Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above
Don't fence me in.
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love
Don't fence me in.

Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever but I ask you please
Don't fence me in."

                                          Cole Porter & Robert Fletcher

"My Darling", he asked, "what is it that would make you happy?"

"I would like a little house, with a white picket fence, lace curtains in the window, and roses growing in a garden.  I want to see our children as they play outside, and I want you to be proud, that this is our home.  It may not be a lavish estate, but it is ours, our dirt, our soil, our land."

The "land", it has always been about the land, no matter how large or how small, it is the land that we aspire to own.

Today, as we travel from town to town, the landscape is changing.  What was once vista's , is now blocked by  multi-storied high density housing, un-affectionately referred to as "stack and packs".   Hundreds of families, stacked one atop the other; and those units spread across acreage like little pigeon holes in which people are to dwell, captive, as in a bird cage.

There is no land; there is no land ownership. There is no choice, there is simply a key to a door, a door in which you will enter and know:  this was not my dream.

It is not the American dream to simply have a roof over our heads; we have sought too long for privacy, for a place where we make the rules of the house, where we determine what the landscape will look like, and what color our house will be painted, what flowers we will plant, what we will have in our garage, or patio,   and if we will have a pool, or not.

But, we are faced with, "stack and packs" dictated by the government and unelected bureaucracies.

One must wonder why?  Why is it important to push people from their single family homes into these high density cocoons.  Perhaps, it is easier to convince people that we, collectively should all be alike, that we should not strive for individualism, but for conformity.  The power of subliminal messaging is in play.

Or is it, that it is much easier to contain people if they are all grouped in the first place.

It is said, that high density housing is more affordable; but take a look at the pricing, it is not so "affordable".

Our children are assigned to play in designated areas, away from the eyes of the parents.  In Twin Falls, Idaho, a little five year old girl, unaccompanied by her parents, playing on the grounds of the "stack and pack" was raped by three young Muslim boys.

High density housing is not for families in the suburbs.  The suburbs are for families who seek that little plot of land, where they can live as they choose.

Governmental intrusion and governmental control of the people is the operative objective.

Perhaps today,  Cole Porter and Robert Fletcher, would have to rewrite their famous song:

"Take the land, lots of land, under governmental rules,          We'll fence you in.
You can't drive through the city that you used to cruise,
We'll fence you in.

Never by yourself in the evenin' breeze,
Listening  to the murmur of the eucalyptus trees,                   Owning you forever, gettin' on your knees,                            We'll fence you in".
.

America, the land of the free rests entirely up to you.  If you value your freedom, your liberty;  recognize they are  in jeopardy. The progressive movement is not about freedom, nor liberty.  It is about control.

Soon the ultimate request will be made of you, as it was for our Founding Fathers:  Give me Liberty or give me death.  Are you prepared to decide?

UC Irvine College Republicans
Have Attorney to Fight Suspension-Shawn Steel

June 23, 2016 By Stephen Frank
Looks like the homophobes running UC Irvine are about to find out about American Justice and the need for Universities to be run as education facilities, not to promote personal political agenda's and quiet those they disagree with.

The UC Irvine College Republicans tries to have Milo Yiannopoulos as a speaker.  He is an internationally known writer and speaker, on a 50 campus tour of the U.S.  He is a conservative, believer in freedom and openly gay.

We know the Chancellor would not stop a believer in freedom or a conservative to speak on campus-he is tolerant of our views, just ask him.  That leaves homophobia as a possible cause for the temper tantrum of Howard Gillman.

UC Irvine is a center for support for Palestinian terrorism and hatred of Israel and Jews.  Maybe Gillman thought that Milo was Jewish?  Either way, Chancellor Gillman has used his office to promote bigotry, hatred and censorship.

I am glad to see the College Republicans have an attorney that fights back, Shawn Steel.  He has been a friend of mine since we worked together on "Youth for Reagan" in 1966.  Even college students have rights to hear from speakers of their choice.  What do you think

WHAT IS AFFH?

Affirmatively
Furthering Fair Housing

A Government Program Planned Take-Over

The Mt. View Republican Club Board has been following this serious and impactful governmental program.  It will affect your housing, your city, and your region.  It will dictate who can live where, subject to the approval of the Federal Government.

Please join us in welcoming:

Kathy Ponce
Acvtivist - Public Affairs
 and Government Programs

As reported in Breitbart,  and written
by Michael Patrick Leahy:

The AFFH rule "gives the Federal Government a lever to re-engineer nearly every American neighborhood - imposing a preferred racial and ethnic composition, densifying housing, transportation, and business development in suburb and city alike, and  weakening or casting aside the authority of local governments over core responsibilities, from zoning to transportation to education," as National Review's Stanley Kurtz put it last week.

AFFH obligates any local jurisdiction that receives HUD funding to conduct a detailed analysis of its housing occupancy by:
  • race,
  • ethnicity,
  • national origin,
  • English proficiency,
  • Class, and
  • A whole slew of government data points that will be housed in a national database

Grantees (that's your city)  must identify factors such as:
  •  zoning laws,
  • public-housing admissions criteria, and
  •  "lack of regional collaboration"
that account for any imbalance in living patterns.

Localities must also list "community assets", such as
  • quality schools,
  • transportation hubs,
  • parks,
  • jobs, and
explain any disparities in access to such assets by race, ethnicity, national origin, English proficiency, class, and more.

What your city, region, etc. will be required to do:

Localities must then develop a plan
to remedy these imbalances,
subject to approval by HUD.

The objective is to have every city,
every community in America
equally balanced.

So, if you wanted to move into a community, and the community already had enough of whatever your status is, (race, economic status, English Proficiency, or "class" ) you would not be permitted to buy, or rent in the locale of your choosing.

However:

Other communities can offer vouchers to have people move into your community in order to balance the ethnic, economic, educational,  make up of the neighborhood.

The program is in place, and
its implementation is imminent.

Please invite your friends and family.

An invitation is being sent to all Republican Councilmembers in our sphere of influence.

MVRC WILL HAVE A BOOTH AT THE CLAREMONT MEMORIAL PARK
JULY 4TH CELEBRATION!!

We will have a booth at Memorial Park. This year we have a wonderful location close to the corner of  Indian Hill and Tenth Street.

We will be setting up at 8:00 a.m and tearing down at 3:00 p.m.

We could use some more volunteers, so if you can volunteer an hour or two at the booth please, let Judi Neal know ASAP.  (909) 305-3717 or Headquarters phone: (909)  579-1623.

We always can use a few extra hands when we have to tear down the booth; so if you can come out around 2:00 p.m. and stay until the end, that would be a great help.  If not, anytime during the day is welcomed!!

It is fun, you meet a lot of people, and it really feels good when people say, " oh, it's so good to see Republicans represented".

If you are around at "high noon" ( 12:00 p.m.) please come out to the Speakers Corner - Carolyn Gonzales will be delivering a speech at that time!!  It is always great to have friendly faces in the audience.
