Our Mission
Health Services Academy High School is a free public charter school developed by Alliance College-Ready Public Schools and authorized by the Los Angeles Unified School District, which employs the theme of health care to provide rigorous college-preparatory instruction and application-based curriculum.

Our mission is to equip students in South Los Angeles with the tools necessary to excel in high school, to prepare them to enter and succeed in college, and to motivate them to select health care related majors and careers - areas in which minority students like those in the school community are grossly underrepresented.

The 2015-2016 academic year is coming to an end and we prepare for end of the year events! As we celebrate the '15-'16 UCLA Dr. Shadow students who are set for graduation, we present the 16-17 cohort as well! This year's application process was amongst the most competitive to date. Out of about 30 applicants, 6 outstanding incoming Seniors were chosen. We are excited to welcome them into the program and cannot wait to see all their amazing contributions!

2015-2016 UCLA Dr. Shadow

Earlier in the month students in the 15-16 Dr. Shadow cohort were celebrated during a private dinner. Students were joined by family members, and hospital and school staff in a dinner that celebrated their participation in the program. The dinner was held at the UCLA Ronald Reagan hospital.

Students had the opportunity to individually share with everyone their experience with the program and the impact it had on their educational journeys. Students took the time to thank their families,  the doctors whom they directly worked with, and school staff and admin who supported them along the way.

We are also very excited to partner with LaunchPath this upcoming academic year. This unique online database will connect HSA students with local internships. HSA is the first school in Southern California to partner with LaunchPath. Students will have the opportunity to connect with local organizations and companies in their interest fields. More information about LaunchPath can be found here.
