New releases include: 
  • ABSENCES: received the 2016 Ariel Award (Mexico's Oscar equivalent) and  follows Lulu, who is left alone with her daughter after her son and husband were snatched off the road by armed men. The film captures the intense phenomenon of enforced disappearance in Mexico, and how it affects women.
  • BEAUTIFUL SIN: Broadcast on PBS, this film  addresses the question, "What if you desparately wanted to have a baby, but your country prohibits you from using medical treatment that could help? It also explores the surprising reproductive rights challenge that resonates from Costa Rica to the US.
  • THE ROOM OF BONES :  follows a group of forensic anthropologists in El Salvador tasked with identifying remains from mass graves amidst the meteoric rise in missing persons caught in the crossfire of government, gangs, and other criminal organizations.
  • PORTRAITS OF A SEARCH: captures the voices of three mothers in Mexico as they search for their children who became "collateral casualites" of a harrowing drug war.
