WE'RE ASKING MEN IN SPORTS:
How can we, as females in sports, better come alongside you in your role that brings glory to God and works for the good of His kingdom on earth?
From a Collegiate Male Athlete: Part Two
Prayer: I think men are in dire need of prayer to not conform to the negative world view of women as well as to make covenants with their eyes. No matter how we do the next two steps (of modesty and intentionality), nothing will fix the problem without Christ going to work on men's hearts, making prayer the single most important step.
It is hard to rise above the world view the majority of people around us believe where it's about the individual and what feels right and satisfying in the moment. It is hard to take a stand against the things people think, say and do that are against Truth, especially when alone in the matter.
This is the case for many Christian guys, especially in the realm of athletics as we are hearing from this young man. And unless we personally know those in this position having talked with them about it, it can be hard to recognize this battle firsthand, even if we do know them.
This is why prayer and awareness is so important. We don't know, but God does, and we can be sensitive to His Holy Spirit to guide us for when we interact with male athletes. So many out there are surrounded by temptation, pressure, and the wrong view/belief of people, namely women in this case, that need us praying for them and a part of the solution. We need to stand by them in Christ whether through our minds, hearts, bodies or spirits.
