Welcome to "In the Loop". This issue spotlights a new Ferrite E-core size-7054 and the new 70x30 mm Powder Core block.  Also included are the enhancements of our new Inductor Design Software and two upcoming trade shows - electronica in Munich in November and IEEC PEAC in Shanghai also in November. 

Magnetics New Inductor Design Software

 

Magnetics Sales Engineers have created a new Inductor Design Software.  It is now available on our website.

 

The enhancements of this new software include:

  • More flexibility to adjust turns to allow the engineer to customize his design
  • More core suggestions
  • All material curves are updated
  • Five new size cores have been added

47054 #27054EC - New Larger Size EC Core

Magnetics is now offering a larger size Ferrite E-Core, 47054EC.
This core provides longer legs, a longer path length, a larger winding area, a larger cross section and higher current handling capabilities.   


Powder Core Voltage Breakdown Improvement

Magnetics' powder cores now have the highest minimum voltage breakdown in the industry.  The minimum voltage breakdown is 2000 volts which is an increase from our previous minimum of 1000 volts.  The 2000 volt minimum voltage breakdown is standard on all powder core toroids larger than 25 mm outside diameter.  Datasheets have been updated to reflect this enhancement.

New Powder Core Block Size - 70x30 mm

A new size of Powder Core Block is now available from Magnetics.  It is a 70x30 mm block. This part fills in the gap between the 60x30 mm and the 80x30 mm Powder Core blocks.  This block has a volume of 42,800 mm�.

electronica 2014 will take place November 11-14, 2014 in Munich, Germany.  This is the 26th International Trade Fair for Electronic Components, Systems and Applications.  It is an international trade fair with added value: the latest topics, trends and technologies.

IEEE PEAC'2014
