Mini Term II starts June 28
Mini Term II for the Summer 2016 semester will begin on Tuesday, June 28, with registration starting on Monday, June 27.

Summer Mini Terms are five week-sessions, with classes offered in numerous courses on both the main campus in Hanceville and in Oneonta, as well as online courses. Mini Terms offer students the ability to complete courses at an accelerated rate.

Two Mini Terms are offered during each semester at Wallace State. The Fall and Spring Mini Terms are usually eight-week sessions.

Registration underway for Fall 2016
Registration for the Fall 2016 semester is currently underway at Wallace State Community College, with classes scheduled to begin on August 17 at both the main campus in Hanceville and the new campus center in Oneonta.

For the Fall 2016 semester, Wallace State offers its regular full-term courses, as well as two Mini Terms, which are eight-week sessions offered in a variety of academic, health and technical courses. Traditional, hybrid and online courses are all offered throughout those terms.

Traditional courses are those classes that are held in classrooms on campus. Hybrid courses are classes that do require some on-campus meetings, but the majority of classes are conducted via the computer. Online courses are conducted completely via the computer. Flipped classes have online lectures, with students coming to campus to complete assignments. Web Assisted classes have online lectures and online assignments, with required lab time on campus with instructors.
Wallace State students earn place on President's and Dean's Lists
HANCEVILLE, AL-Wallace State Community College in Hanceville congratulates the 749 students named to the President's List and Dean's List for the Spring 2016 Semester. To earn a spot on the Wallace State President's List, students must maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester while taking a course load of 12 or more hours. Placement on the Dean's List is awarded to students maintaining a 3.5 GPA or higher while also taking a course load of at least 12 hours.
Put 2016-2017 Common Read book on your summer reading list
Wallace State Community College will begin its 8th annual Common Read program during the Fall 2016 semester, with "The Art of Racing in the Rain" as the selection for the 2016-2017 school year.

This work of fiction by Garth Stein is a New York Times Best Seller and the story is told from the perspective of Enzo, a dog whose master in up-and-coming race care driver Denny Swift. Through Denny, Enzo has gained tremendous insights into the human condition, and he sees that life, like racing, isn't simply about going fast. Using the techniques needed on the race track, one can successfully navigate all of life's ordeals.
